To avoid the overhead of creating a virtual machine (VM) instance for individual vSmart controllers, you can create a vContainer host. A vContainer host is a VM that holds multiple vSmart controllers as containers. The vSmart controllers in a vContainer host are independent of each other, and can belong to different networks.
To create a vContainer host:
- Create a VM instance on a server that is running hypervisor software. You can create the VM on ESXi, KVM, or Amazon AWS.
- Create a minimal configuration for the vContainer host.
- Add a vSmart controller to the vContainer host.
